Free Day

Is there something interesting that anybody out there would like to talk about or discuss?

Movies, Celebrities, California's increase on min wage, Sports, the ozone, or dark matter?

Scandalous! I think pics like that are banned in some countries. ;)

Random question: What happened to the counter that told us which links were the most popular? I liked it.

And I want to know if everybody has watched Snakes in a Music Vido.

I think that was a free for x period of time software. I can't remember exactly...

Question:

What makes pavement permanent?

Explain yourself.

I don't wanna. You can't make me....

I've seen bumper stickers that state something similar to what I wrote above. I am guessing it is envirofolks that are afraid of roads and parking lots, since they feel that there is no going back.

SO, I am essentially wondering:

What is so permanent about pavement?

"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot"....Stupid Joan Baez.

A better song by Talking Heads - (Nothing But) Flowers, featured in Clerks II.

"This used to be real estate
Now it's only fields and trees
Where, where is the town
Now, it's nothing but flowers
The highways and cars
Were sacrificed for agriculture...
If this is paradise
I wish I had a lawnmower"

Now, do I have a real answer? No.

I immediately thought of that TH song, too.

Those sex libris photos may cause a divorce yet. What's worse though is a flyer for a library overstock sale.

Are any of you familiar with the Austrian Business Cycle model? Hayekian triangles, etc.?
Nathan

Yep, but not familiar enough to explain it coherently.

Travis?

(If needs be, I can get Roy to paraphrase it for posting here.)

here's a little bit on them triangles

Chris beat me to it.
Roger Garrison has several good pieces explaining Hayekian Triangles and the Austrian Business Cycle theory.

I think this essay, in particular, does the best job of explaining both.

If you are intersted in the Austrian Business Cyle theory, I would also recomend that you check out Bryan Caplan's short critiques of the theory and Austrian Economics in general.

Oh, for direction, Caplan covers the Austrian Business Cycle Theory in section 3.4 of that link.

Student, you shouldn't be sending "Why I'm not an Austrian Economist" to explain Austrian Business Cycle Theory. You'll turn Juris against the Austrian School!

I am aimeing at intellectual integrity here. I heard a lecture on this at FEE and it blew my mind. So much prettier than the IS/LM mess.
I'll get started reading those links now...
