Should we get offended when we feel stereotyped by other people, or, recognizing the asymetrical information dilemma, respond with understanding.
For example, as a rather large white guy with very short hair and a large tattoo, should I be surprised and offended when I draw attention walking through downtown Durham? Of course not.
Is the little old lady justified in getting upset by being searched at the airport? Yes.
