WWII
On this day in 1941, the United States declared war on Japan. WWII was the last time that Congress actually voted on a declaration of war against a foreign power.

I'm of the opinion that the US government provoked Japan into attacking Pearl Harbor as an excuse to get into WWII. Why should the US have gotten into another "Old World" war? How much had the US conformed to the "Old World" by then, thaks to FDR and Keynesianism?
